THE BLOOD OF JESUS....

By Dr Jehoshaphat Mensa

Our identity as children of God is stamped and sealed by the blood of Jesus.

In Mathew 26:28 Jesus says "This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins".

In 1 John 1:7b the bible says "and the blood of Jesus, his son, purifies us from all sin". We see in the preceding two portions of scripture that the blood of Jesus has the power to cleanse us of ALL SIN. No sin is too big or too small to be cleansed from our lives by the blood of Jesus.

In times that we sin, we need to ask for forgiveness and cleansing by the blood of Jesus. Sins left to persist or stay in our lives can be used as gambits for the enemy to accuse us and allow him access to wreck havoc in our lives. But praise be to God that "the blood of Jesus speaks a better word" ( Hebrews 12:24), rendering every accusation inadmissible in the courts of heaven.

When we sin, God desires RECONCILIATION more than RETRIBUTION. The blood of Jesus reinstates our identity as children of God and reconciles us back to our Heavenly Father. Let us guard our identity in Christ through his Blood daily. God loves us and more than anything, wants us to remain his love as his children.

In 1 John 3:1 the bible says "How great is the love the father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God".

As we approach the end of the year, let us renew our relationship with God, asking him to cleanse us of anything that makes us feel any less than God's children loved by their Heavenly Father!
