HEART HEALTH IN WORSHIP

BY DR, BLESS NHYIRA NAADU NYARKU

10 Create in me a pure heart, O God,

and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

11 Do not cast me from your presence

or take your Holy Spirit from me.

12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation

and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me

Psalms 51:10-12

When King David’s heart was filled with guilt over his sin with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11), he found it impossible to worship. He felt that God was far from him, and he “groaned all day long” feeling God’s hand heavy upon him (Psalm 32:3, 4). But when he confessed, fellowship with God was restored and worship and praise poured forth from him.

It matters to God the state of our hearts in worship. To worship in truth is surrendering a heart that is broken, hurt, conflicted, angry, bitter, resentful, selfish, greedy, unappreciated, discouraged, unforgiving, jealous, lustful, conceited, or prideful to God. God is not looking for perfection, he is looking for willingness.

An encounter with the spirit of truth is allowing God to expose your heart intent and as He does that don’t make excuses, don’t cover up, don’t justify your actions but truly repent! Allow him to fix the brokenness and heal you, take away the pride and tendencies to perform and allow the Holy Spirit in through every room in your heart so you can worship truthful.

Trust Him for healing and wholeness and a fresh start.

Internally position yourself in the presence of God.

Someone one once told me “true faith is built on honesty”

God bless you.
