Do you minister to yourself?

10/06/18 inspired by the Holy Spirit through Bishop Donald Chirambo Beacon of Hope Tabernacle

When I heard the title pf the sermon, I asked myself “ain’t I suppose to minister to God and to people?” Is there such a thing as ministering to self?

I learnt this; When we minister to God, we put Him in His rightful place in our hearts and our lives. He is magnified, we declare who He is, He is exalted. We confess who He is. When we minister to people we tell them about God, bring them to the light of God. When we minister to yourselves, we attain what we need. Isn’t that beautiful?

How then do I minister to myself?

- Rejoice always. 1 Thessalonian 5:16

Joy is from the inside out. Joy is from the Lord. The joy of the Lord should be constant and progressive no matter what the situation is. Joy should not be circumstantial for the Joy of the Lord is your strength.

- Pray without ceasing. Thessalonians 5:17

Be God dependent!!!!!! Praying without ceasing means being in constant communion with God. Talk to Him and most importantly listen to what He is saying, this leads you to knowing His heart more and more. Nothing takes you by surprise when you are in constant communion with GOD. Fix your eyes on Jesus. Pray, He answers! Whatever you get through prayer maintain it in prayer.

- Be grateful purposefully, Thessalonians 5:18

It is the will of God to give thanks in ALL circumstances. If you were wondering what the will of God for your life is, thus is it! When we give thanks, whether good or bad, we show confidence in God, He delights it our confidence. Learn to be thankful for the people in your life. Giving thanks gives room for more.

- Do not despise prophecy. 1 Thessalonians 5:20

Firstly, no prophetic word does not come from the word. If some delivers prophecy (the rhema word of God) it must correlate with scripture. Read the word if you do not want to be misled. Prophesy is the every word of God, whether spoken or written. Do not despise it. Abide in it.

- Abstain from evil. 1 Thessalonians 5:22

Holiness is power! Staying pure and holy makes you confident in approaching God and ministering to other people.

Among others, these are some of the important ways to attain what we need from god and stay in consistent and continuous fellowship with God. Read through, if you struggle with any of these, as God to direct you and give you strength to minister to yourself and hence touch His heart.

God bless.
